Dying my own hair blond...what products work best?

I have medium brown hair (well, in the light sometimes it looks lighter). I want to dye my entire hair blond without turning it some funky color of orange or yellow! I also want to be careful not to fry it too much! Any suggestions for home hair color products that have worked on brunettes?

First off, don't do it, I know you are thinking you are going to get it done no matter what, but I'm still going to tell you this, you can't use and store bought products to try and dye it, it WILL come out an abnormal color! You have to get it professionally done! It needs to be bleached, but everyone looks best with the color God gave them, I would suggest sticking with that. Get Blond highlights as a starter and then work your way, if you REALLY want to do that.

let me tell you its VERY hard getting your hair back to your natural color and it sucks to dye it every month because of roots and fades. I had color damage of coloring my hair for 5 years. I still haven't got back to the orignal color. and its difficult not getting a yellow or orange color out of box because box color is bad thats how i got the color damage. I suggest a salon

I have dyed my own hair for years but would not dare to try going blonder I am a natural mousey colour. I go darker, if you want lighter strongly recommend hairdresser as your hair can go bright orange or anything if you get it wrong.
