even if you are Beyonce's complexion it still makes me wonder (*why did she dye her hair that color*)...

Yes i have seen some cute hairstyles but i think we should leave the blond hair (and weaves) alone...why can't we take pride in our own natural hair textures and colors???

I think more black people should were dreads and other natural styles...is it just me or does anyone else feel awkard when they see a sista walk in for a job with blue or platinum bone straight weave?

I totally agree. But so many people are still being conditioned to think that weaves and perms are good for them. I'm learning to give people time. But it does bug me.

Blond hair - as people get more famous (sometimes only in their minds), their hair tends to get lighter lol. Blond apparently is the goal color for a lot of people.... so, its popular on the streets too. Yeah - its tacky.

I'm black and my hair is sandy brown with red highlights it is shoulder length and really straight and every thing about it is natural If you have the right skin for blond go for it and bye the way barley anyone would ever wear dread locks they are so unruly and dirty-looking if you don't take care of them.

I agree, (the dyed blond hair) it doesn't look natural and demeans our natural beauty. It's just that people tend to conform to the Eurocentric idea of beauty. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with the beauty of those of European heritage, but, there's this ingrained idea that the closer you are to that standard of beauty, the better you are. It goes back to slavery and the whole "house slave" /"field slave" mentality. The natural hair texture and color is indicative of a person's African roots, and many have not embraced the beauty in this, nor do they have enough love of self to do so.

What about black people who are natural blondes.. I know a few, and both of their parents are black... Do they look ugly? I know that's not the normal thing for us, but it does happen, we come in allll rainbow shades and varieties.

Beyonce looks great as a blonde, and so does Mary J Blige.. I'll be honest mary's on the darker side and she's barely getting away with it.. lol.. but those dark caramels look beautiful against her skintone.

I don't like the blue or platinum. I'm not black so I can't speak from expeience but I have seen blonde styles that look great on black women. I do agree with you about taking pride in your heritage. I think more people should feel good and proud in their own skin. That's why I don't think every blonde out there should buy a double D boob job, but hair is so personal, and even you have to admit that with the same hair color and texture black women don't have that many options soooooo.......I think, do what it takes to make yourself feel beautiful so long as your not doing it to please someone else.....and be proud of who you are inside and the outside will come easy.

Etta James, Mary Wells, and Mary J. Blige are examples of black women who looked wonderful with blond hair. I also though Kelly Rowland looked great with various shades of red. In any case, why should blond hair be only for fair skinned people? I am sure you know there are few people who are naturally blond; so why don't you fault white women who choose to go blond? It's not natural for most of them either.

I don't think all black people should be forced to only wear certain hair styles, I don't care what or how my ancestors may have worn their hair decades ago. My hair is naturally red with blond highlights, and I have really dark skin. I wear my hair straight because that's how I like it. And if I wanted to dye my hair platinum blond, that is just what I'll do.

In my country it is soooo popular among black women to use blond-amlost white hair...Im sorry but they dont look good. Im not racist (Im not even white myself), but one has to know what is good and what is not. If you're super skinny you dont look good in a mini skirt, if you're too fat you shouldnt wear short tops, is you're black, your hair shouldnt be white, yellow or orange.
