I've been through 3 pregnancies now currently on my 4th. I have always colored and highlighted my hair and never had any problems. My doc says its perfectly safe. I have heard that sometimes when your pregnant the hormones in your body can cause unwanted color results, but that has never happened to me. Good Luck~

My blonde highlights came out perfect-if your worried about the orange, just check it often and leave it in longer if needed. You can always buy a toner if they come out too brassy.

Haircolor is safe to use. Take the usual precautions, avoid contact with skin, eyes, etc. Your hair's chemistry is not changed by pregnancy. The hair that grows out DURING pregnancy may be generally healthier because of the nutritional adjustments you make and the vitamins you take; and that may have a very slight effect on colors, perms, etc.

I was told i could highlight while pregnant if i was in a well ventilated area and used the highlights with a cap to protect the scalp area.

It is true though that sometimes hormones can mess with the coloring of the hair and for some one the hair becomes more delicate and may end up with a lot of breakage or split ends if colored but you can't really tell if that will happen or not until you dye.

My OBGYN did say NO to regular hair dyeing. The chemicals can get into your system if it hits the scalp. And you must have plenty of ventilation which is why my mom highlighted my hair sitting on the front porch so we weren't even inside with the fumes.

you are not to dye your hair at all while pregnant because it goes into the blood,, it can harm the baby and if you are smart you would ask your doc and they will say the same thing. who cares about your hair you have a baby to think about..
