Well its hard to pull off being blond when you had a different color before. If you think its weird it probably just doesnt go with your skin tone or its too light. Try toning it down a little and go between brown and blonde. It also depends on your roots, if your roots are too dark, you really cant pull it off without damaging it harshly and having to dye it every week.

Some good colors are auburn, and chocklate brown.
