I've dyed my hair blond and I straighten it all the time. My bangs will not grow though. They get straightened no matter if the rest is curly or straight, and they feel brittle and break off all the time. The won't grow past my eyes and I'm trying to grow them out. Should I dye my hair back to brown or will that really even matter? I heard that the lighter your hair is the worse heat is on it. I don't really know.
Does dyed blond hair damage easier with heat than darker dyed hair? Why?
Dying your hair back brown won't undo the damage from dying it blonde. To go from brown to blonde you basically are removing molecules of pigment from your hair and stripping the hair, which makes your hair more brittle and prone to breakage. Dying it back brown will not make it healthy because the damage has already been done, the best thing you can do is try and limit the heat damage you do to it with straighteners/blow dryers etc. You could also try a protein treatment (you can usually find these are beauty supply stores) which will somewhat restore the missing nutrients your hair lost through lightening.

Dying hair blonde is like sucking the color out of your hair to make it lighter, while dying hair brown is just like putting color into it. Sucking the color out (bleaching) makes it more brittle. Keep your hair as it is because it might put it through a lot if you lighten it, straighten it and darken it. Try some really good conditioner to keep it soft. Hope this helps! :D
