Highlighting / colouring hair blond question.?

I have highlighted long blond hair using bleach. My natural colour is light brown. My roots have grown out about an inch. What would be the effect of now colouring it all over with a toner / general blond hair dye that you can buy in packets from shops eg clairol etc? How would this effect the colour of the roots and existing blond bleached hair? Thanks

i've done that before except had it done at a salon and ended up two toned (not significantly) even though it was professionally done (i went darker) plus my hair got real dry and am in the long process of it growing out.

It will turn it red. Your best best is to go to a salon and have it done professionally.

If you'd used regular hair dye previously, all it does is lighten it all over a bit more. However, with bleach...you might want to see a stylist about it. Bleach is really hard on your hair and can easily do nasty things like turn green! :(

I do not prefer blondes so just let it go. The long term effect would be being a stupid blonde.

well... the roots would still be a bit darker than the rest

if you left the bleach on to long it could fry your already-bleached hair and make it a pain for weeks...

go to a salon and let them touch-up your roots... then they'll match and your already bleached hair won't be any lighter...

The roots will go the colour you are aiming for (as per on the box) but the rest of your hair may lighten a lot quicker. Normally the instructions in the box will tell you what to do if your hair is already coloured/ bleached. alternatively get one of those root colouring kits that recently came out.

DONT BLEACH YOUR HAIR!!!!! its the worst color ever!!! You can at least dye it summer blonde or something!!
