I colored my hair (blond) and it turned greenish-gray?

Now what? My hair WAS about the color of my avatar (golden blond). I used L'Oreal ColorSpa #52 in "Chardonnay" (Extra light natural blonde) but it turned my honey-colored hair a horrible greenish-gray! It's now the color of a rotten penny.

What should I do? Besides wear a hat for 28 shampoos!

You could first try using a mix of 1 part baking soda and 1 part shampoo. That should lift some of the color out.

If that doesn't work, I would suggest going to a salon and asking their advice. I would personally do a soap cap, which is a mix of decolorizer (bleach) and shampoo. Make sure the stylist understands that the color you used is semi-permanant (28 shampoo) because this type of color is easier to remove than permanant.

Good Luck

the color you used has blue undertones. what does blue and yellow make???? you will need a pro now.

I never have colored treated my hair by myself because of the amonia in the product - my colorist says there's even more nasty chemicals in those products like the chemical they use to embalm dead bodies! So I always go to a professional for my hair - it's never cheap but I don't trust myself (honestly) with my own hair and wouldn't buy an OTC product.
