Hair dying suggestions! Dirty blond to medium brown????

I have dirty blond hair and want to dye it medium brown. I have never dyed my hair before and neither has anyone in my family. Please give me any suggestions like to what I should do and what hairdressers are good. That would really help. I really have no idea what its like to dye hair, i just know I want it brown. Thanks so much! Also: pros and cons of dying hair and will it damage my hair, and when it starts to fade, can I get it back to my original color???

Dying can be really bad for your hair. For one, YES it fades and NO it doesn't fade back to your natural color. Which means you have to keep dying it to keep it looking nice.., which makes your hair die and look really nasty.

Dying your hair yourself is cheaper, and it'd be really easy since your going from light hair to darker.. but I wouldn't reccomend it. Only because it'd fade faster, and since you have NO idea on how to do it, you could make it look really bad. Also if the dye gets on your skin, it's hard to get off.

I'd suggest to get out your phone book and call salons around your area. Ask them what their rates are to dye your full hair. Also, remember that just because one is REALLY expensive, doesn't mean they're better. I paid over 130 dollars to get my hair done at one salon, and it looked horrible. I paid 60 at another one, and it was wonderful. Ask some of your friends if they know of any good ones to go to.

Than, after your get your hair dyed, you need to buy shampoo for colored hair. It helps keep the color in longer, and helps keep your hair healthy. I ALWAYS reccomend Fructis shampoo, ALWAYS.

I don't know you, or what you look like, but just know that brunettes are beautiful.. but lots of girls love to be blonde. And it's really hard to get the natural blonde look. Once you dye your hair brunette, the only way to get your natural hair color is to let your hair grow back out.
