Black to blond hair?

I had black hair, but and trying to get it a lighter more blond color. So far my idea is do it slowly, just every few weeks buy a lighter brown color until it get to blond, but that will take a hella long time. Could I just bleach it (I know it will look like **** after) but than re color it a dark blond color? than from there go lighter if I need too?

Black to blond hair?

id probably go one shade to a light brown, then to a blond.

bleaching isnt good for your hair, but neither is dying.

Black to blond hair?

i guess..umm what was your question again?

Black to blond hair?

i think you could go all at one time if you really wanted to but its going to look toatoly weird. ps blonde has a e at the end. %26lt;3Q

Black to blond hair?

Ive been almost every color and if you bleach your hair it may turn orange from having black hair! Def. go to a dark blond first! Golden brown/blond! Good luck!

HAIR SALON CAN DO ANYTHING BETTER :)

Black to blond hair?

Stay black, to many blondes these days :P

Black to blond hair?

Waiting does nothing for the health of your hair. So bleaching and waiting a day or week doesn't help.

Now, if your scalp is sensitive to the bleach, then waiting a day can help the scalp.

Just do it slow in steps. you don't want to look like a freak!

Black to blond hair?

go to a professional and gradually get hi/lites so by the middle of summer you will get your hair as blonde as you would like without completely destroying your hair, also don't skimp on the conditioner during this time your will thank you

Please don't do that!!! Your hair will be left like straw and turn an awful orange shade. Lightening the hair from black to blond is a big chemical change so you should really visit a professional. The at home kits are not designed to tackle this well, and only an expert can give you the result that you want. To be honest with you...why do you want to go blond??...the upkeep with be costly and an effort, the condition of your hair will change and you will just look like everyone else...be unique and embrace your beautiful dark hair.

Black hair deffinately needs a polypeptide treatment to fade some of the black and add protien to the hair before bleaching. You will deff have to bleach and it will take some time. I would try to get a light brown and mix that with a 40 volume developer. This will cause the hair colour in your hair to be lifted 4 shades lighter. That's the most you can go in one treatment. Then I would start to consider the bleaching. If you start bleaching from black you will have a hard time. By the way when you bleach hair you can only leave it in for 15 minutes at the most. Wait 3 weeks and repeat for another 15 minutes. By the second bleaching you should be closer to the colour you want your hair to be. Please consider the undertones that will appear after bleaching. The color that is underneath the dye is called the undertown if it is red you will need to dye your hair with something that has green in it to cancel out the red. They can help you at a beauty supply like a sally or ace. GOOD LUCK.

DO NOT BLEACH YOU HAIR AT HOME.

I've done it before, and I got unwanted results: orange hair.

Get a professional to do it. Believe it or not, jet black hair is waaay different from dark next-to-black brown. Brown hair is easier to bleach to blonde, while pure black hair is harder, since it has a blue/purple undertone that brown doesnt have.

Get and professional to do it, or someone with experience that had positive [BLONDE] results.

Black to blond hair?

ok listen up, i may not be perfect but ive been a professional hairdresser for 6 years (for regis). taking it a shade at a time will be more damaging than lightning it with bleach lightner. i did the same process to my hair, i let a fellow coworker do it. it took 2 hours and 2 applications. my hair is in cood condition after it. the most damage was some fine hairs around my face that snapped.

now normally we (cosmos) tell you black to blonde is impossible. but it can be done correctly. i would not attempt this on your own hair. i owuld find a corrective hair salon that can do it. and they will likely still have you sign a release form before doing it.

now the reason one shade lighter at a dime wont work? if youre buying the color off the shelf of your local grocery store, its formulated for all hair types and colors. which means its very strong. to do that over and over for only a shade would be torment to the hair. if you would rather do a slow change, make sure you go to a salon which can pix the shade you want and a low level developer so that your hair stays healthy.

anyway, hope that helps.

and if you have more questions, you can message me.
